COOTAMUNDRA COUNTRY CLUB
WORK FOR THE DOLE SCHEME
As many of our members may be aware we have been offered and are taking up the services of people on Work for the Dole scheme.
We are going to have 1 person in and around the Clubhouse area, 2 people for the Bowling Greens and associated areas, and 3 people for the Golf Course.
We need volunteers to supervise the groups – supervisors do not have to work with the Work for the Dole participants if they do not wish but just be around.
Starting Monday 12th February 2018, they are coming 2 days a week, Mondays & Wednesdays from 8.30 am to 5 pm with ½ hour lunch break.
We would like to have as many supervisors as possible to lessen the amount of time each volunteer gives.
We envisage if we initially have at least 8 volunteers for the Bowling area and 8 for the Golf Course to give up ½ day to supervise (morning 8.30 am to 12.30 pm, or afternoon 1pm to 5 pm) it would mean ½ day a fortnight to get this scheme up and running. Of course the more supervisors we have the less time required. We will also fit in with certain requests and requirements, for example we have one lady who would like ½ day per week for the first 4 weeks for the 3 assigned to the Golf Course to work on a certain area of the golf course.
We are compiling a list of things for them to do such as gardening, removing dead plants and cutting others back, whipper-snipping, picking up sticks and cleaning around trees, cleaning up and tidying around the clubhouse, cleaning windows etc. and working on bunkers. If you have an area you think you would like to have as “yours” please let us know and we will consider it. From our point of view there is so much that could be done.
This scheme has worked very well for other organisations in Cootamundra and other towns and we know with help from our members we will be able to do likewise.
If you are able to help please contact Margaret or Julia in the office 69421330 or email the club email@example.com
Thank you in anticipation of your positive reply.
